Porting
The Porting API lets partners submit and manage requests to port phone numbers from another carrier onto the CarrierX network. A port-in request tracks a set of phone numbers through system validation, carrier submission, carrier approval, and activation.
This section documents the Porting API, which partners use to submit and manage port-in requests programmatically. Every port-in request, whether submitted through this API or manually, still requires a completed and signed Letter of Authorization. Refer to that page for the form and instructions on filling it out.
Once CarrierX and the underlying carrier approve a port-in request, a phone number object is created for the partner with a pending_port_in status ahead of the requested activation date. When the port-in request is completed, the phone number is activated (moved to assigned status) and becomes available for full use.
