Conference
CarrierX offers a hosted Conference Application Endpoint that enables two or more parties to communicate in a meeting. Callers are connected to a meeting room, which defines configuration settings, call flow behavior, and access keys that determine participant roles – host, participant, or listener.
The Conference API supports audio conferencing for up to 1,000 attendees, with call flows playing a central role in how calls are routed and managed.
CarrierX provides two versions of the conferencing API: Conference (legacy) and Conference v2. Both support multi-party calls with role-based access and integration with playback endpoints for accessing recorded meetings. The legacy version uses predefined meeting rooms and static access codes, while Conference v2 introduces dynamic call flows, on-demand room creation, and more flexible configuration through override settings at different levels.
Conference v1 is considered a legacy product and may be deprecated in the future. To avoid the need to port projects to Conference v2, CarrierX strongly recommends using only Conference v2 for new projects.
If you're new to the subject, refer to the Conference Quick Start Guides. These walk you through configuring Conference endpoints, creating meeting rooms, assigning containers for meeting recordings, and accessing those recordings.
