Trunk Groups
Trunk groups hold settings to determine to which trunk calls are sent. Trunk groups consist of one or more trunks. It is possible to create a trunk group with no trunks, but no trunk without a trunk group.
tip
Refer to our How It Works: Trunk Groups and Trunks section to learn more about what trunk groups are, what they are used for, and how you can work with them.
The Trunk Groups API defines how calls are routed between CarrierX and partner networks. Trunk groups represent logical collections of trunks that share configuration settings and routing behavior. They determine which trunks are used for inbound and outbound calls, apply routing policies, and manage call distribution for partner networks.
