Endpoints

Endpoints represent devices or logical entities that can send or receive voice calls. These can include external SIP devices (such as an Asterisk server or SIP PBX) or hosted CarrierX applications.

Each partner account is provided with a system_gateway endpoint, which represents the CarrierX switching infrastructure. This endpoint determines the IP addresses used for inbound and outbound traffic and cannot be modified.

In call detail records, inbound PSTN calls list the system_gateway endpoint as the inbound leg, while the target endpoint is shown as the outbound leg. For inbound calls directed to third-party SIP devices, make sure your switch accepts traffic from the IP addresses defined in the system_gateway endpoint.
