Access Control

Access Control defines how CarrierX evaluates and enforces call and messaging permissions through a combination of Access Control Rules (ACRs) and Access Control Lists (ACLs).

  • Access Control Rules are the criteria applied to calls or SMS messages — such as phone numbers, prefixes, or regular expressions — that determine whether a request matches specific conditions.

  • Access Control Lists are policy containers that group one or more rules and define actions (e.g., allow, reject) for inbound or outbound traffic.

This framework allows partners to build precise, flexible, and auditable access control policies without modifying call routing or messaging logic. ACLs can be attached to various CarrierX resources, such as trunk groups, trunks, or phone numbers, ensuring that traffic is filtered consistently at the network level.
