Bindings
Bindings enable call forwarding from one phone number to another. Bindings can be set to last for a specific amount of time or indefinitely. There are several types of bindings:
-
Bindings that apply to all incoming callers. This type of binding can be created by setting
wait_origination_did_ttl
to-1
and and leavingorigination_did
unspecified. -
Bindings with one specified incoming phone number. A binding can also be restricted to a specific phone number, meaning that only the specified number will be subject to the binding. This type of binding can be created by setting
origination_did
as a phone number in the E.164 format. -
Bindings with one unspecified incoming phone number. To establish a binding for an unspecified incoming phone number, you can designate a time period during which the first caller will be assigned to the binding. Once the binding is associated with the first caller, it will apply only to that caller. This type of binding can be created by setting
wait_origination_did_ttl
to a positive number and leavingorigination_did
unspecified.
Bindings are useful in many scenarios. For example, during a one-week marketing campaign, a binding can be set up to forward calls from a rented phone number provided to consumers. After the week ends, the binding will expire, and the company will no longer receive calls related to that specific campaign.
